The Long Acre Original
This is a scene of our Irish countryside…our beautiful fields, the colourful stone walls, and the clear blue waters.
This road is what we call a boreen…a narrow country road. In rural Ireland, when your cattle or sheep broke out of the fields they would drift out onto the boreen. The stock would graze the grassy margin in the centre til the farmer would find them. He would be in no hurry because he would know they were not going hungry…hence, the term “the long acre”.
